The Design Studio in Bridgehampton is hosting an artists’ reception for the current exhibit “Sweet” during the weekend of July 11.
In cooperation with the Elisa Contemporary Art Gallery in Riverdale, New York, the exhibit will showcase works by hyperrealists Peter and Madeline Powell and photographs by Paula Brett.
Mr. and Ms. Powell create “larger than life” photorealistic paintings that often focus on the sweet subject of eating candy. Ms. Brett is an interdisciplinary artist who will feature photographs from her “Candy Mandala” Series, in which assortments of candies from Hershey’s Kisses to lollipops are arranged in colorful mandala-like arrays.
The event will run from Friday, July 11, to Sunday, July 13, from 12 to 6 p.m. Sweets will be served. The exhibit runs until August 4.
