Man Arrested After East Hampton Manhunt

Sag Harbor Schools, like their counterparts in East Hampton, were briefly put on lockdown on Friday as East Hampton police sought a man, who was reportedly suicidal and had left his Springs home with a shotgun and headed toward the village.

The former operators of Sag Harbor’s 7-Eleven pleaded guilty to wire fraud and concealing and harboring illegal aliens while stealing their wages on Monday, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Accident on Scuttlehole Road in Bridgehampton Causes Traffic Delays

Southampton Town police officers and Bridgehampton Fire Department EMTs attend to the wounded driver of a semi tractor-trailer carrying a load of dirt that overturned at the intersection of Scuttlehole Road and Brick Kiln Road on Friday morning. The driver was subsequently transported to the hospital via helicopter for further treatment.

UPDATE: Armed Suspect of Violent Bridgehampton Home Invasion Sought

Southampton Town Police, who were reportedly in pursuit of an armed suspect from an earlier home invasion, sealed off the Huntington Crossway and the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike on Tuesday evening at about 7:30 p.m., according to multiple reports from witnesses.

Arbitration Panel Awards 2.5-Percent Raise to Sag Harbor Cops

A three-member arbitration panel this week has ordered that Sag Harbor Village police officers receive retroactive 2.5-percent raises, covering the period from June 2011 to June 2013, but also required that any new hires to the department be required to contribute 15 percent toward their health insurance costs.
