Halsey to be Honored with WPPB 88.3 Community Leader Award

Posted on 20 May 2014

John v.H. Halsey will be honored with WPPB 88.3’s first community leader award and will be named as the 2014 WPPB 88.3 Golf Outing Honoree, the station announced in a press release issued last week.

For more than 30 years, John v.H. Halsey has maintained a vision for the East End as the founder and President of the Peconic Land Trust, a nonprofit land conservation organization established in 1983 and dedicated to conserving Long Island’s working farms, natural lands, and rural heritage now and in the future. Under Mr. Halsey’s leadership, the Trust has worked with homeowners, communities, municipalities, and partner organizations to protect over 11,000 acres of land, conserving more working farms on Long Island than any other private conservation organization.

The station will honor Mr. Halsey at its annual golf outing, held this year on September 15 at the Atlantic Golf Club.
