The weather has been good with what almost feels like a dose of early fall. Cool mornings and mild days have made for some great beach weather. If you have passed by Noyac Bay you have seen those big brown patches. It looks like the brown tide is back. The bay temps continue to be 74 degrees. I guess we will have to wait and see if it affects our scallops. In the meantime clamming has been good with extra low tides on the last moons. Some larger crabs have been taken in saltwater creeks. Reports from Mecox say the crabs are small.

Ralph O’Hear, 46, a longtime resident of Sag Harbor, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on August 21. He’d been sick for years and spent the last five months at the hospital.
