Film Explores The Woman Behind Secretariat

Few horses have captured the public’s imagination like Secretariat, the 1973 Triple Crown winner, whose success made its owner, Penny Chenery Tweedy, the public face of horse racing. With the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby this weekend, the Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival will present the East Coast premiere of a documentary that explores the life of the famous champion’s owner, who was a trailblazer herself in a sport long dominated by men.

Trip to Israel a Life-Altering Experience

Despite coming at the journey from different viewpoints, the three members of Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor, who were among the 20 people who visited Israel in late March on a trip led by Rabbi Leon Morris and Rabbi Gadi Capela of Temple Tifereth Israel in Greenport, were unanimous in describing the 12-day tour as a life-altering experience.

Sag Harbor School Board Will Move Forward With Smallest Parking Lot Option for Pierson

After a contentious April 23 meeting, the Sag Harbor Board of Education voted to move forward with the smallest of the parking lot reconfiguration options for Pierson Middle-High School. Their choice, option 3, will add 11 spaces, one in the Jermain Avenue lot and 10 by filling in the Division Street lot tree wells.
