New Airport Engineer for East Hampton

Posted on 03 September 2014

East Hampton Town will appoint a new engineer for the East Hampton Airport on Thursday, in order to collect more information for the airport’s capital plan. Arthur Malman, one of the founders of the Group for Good Government and a member of its airport advisory committee, gave a presentation during a town board work session on Tuesday, September 2, to share information and findings about both of the bidders.

The committee found that both T.H. Chastain Engineering of Bayville and the Baker Team, based in Maryland with a satellite office in White Plains, were well qualified for the job, but five members favored the Baker Team, which they felt provided more information in their response to the town’s request for proposals.

The board is expected to appoint the Baker Team when it meets Thursday, September 4, at Town Hall.
