Sex Offender Trails in Southampton Officially Closed

Last week, Suffolk County Legislatir Jay Schneiderman confirmed that sex offender trailers in Westhampton and Riverside have been permanently closed as promised by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone.

All occupants of the trailers have been transferred to other facilities under the recently passed Community Protection Act.

Legislator Schneiderman aid the county is making arrangements to remove the trailers from the two sites as expeditiously as possible.

ā€œIā€™d like to thank County Executive Bellone for being a man of his word by providing long-overdue relief for residents of these communities who have suffered with this burden for years,ā€ said Legislator Schneiderman.
