Artists & Writers Night at Almond

Posted on 31 December 2012

Almond (www.almondrestaurant.com) at 1 Ocean Road in Bridgehampton offers its third monthly “Artists & Writers Night” next Wednesday, January 9.

The evening will be themed around Frank O’Hara’s Lunch Poems and Larre’s the traditional French bistro where O’Hara and other writers and poets gathered. A family style three-course menu created by executive chef Jason Weiner will be served with discussions led by poet Kathryn Levy. The cost is $40, which includes the dinner, a glass of local wine or craft beer, tax and gratuity.

“Through this event, we’re continuing the time-honored Hamptons tradition as an incubator of creativity,” Weiner explains. “The evening will give artists and writers the opportunity to gather together to exchange thoughts and ideas while enjoying a great meal.”

Kathryn Levy is the author of the poetry collections, “Losing the Moon” (Canio’s Editions) and the forthcoming “Reports” (New Rivers Press), as well as “The Nutcracker Teacher Resource Guide” (New York City Ballet Education Department), a guide to classroom poetry instruction.

To make a reservation, visit Almond’s website or call 537-5665.
