In a press release issued this week, the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce announced the results of its board of directors election.
The chamber reports a surge in interest in board participation with several long-standing board members stepping down to open up seats for newcomers.
“Special thanks and appreciation goes to Lisa Field and Dr. Andrew Pepper for their years of service and ongoing support of the chamber,” said Chamber President Kelly Connaughton in a press release issued Monday.
At the Chamber’s annual Holiday Party, new board members were elected for 2014. Cristina Tagliasacchi, Hayley Thorpe, David Brogna and Susan Borgita were elected to the board for the first time, and Debbie Rudoy was elected as the corresponding secretary. Kelly Connaughton, president of the Sag Harbor American Music Festival, was re-elected chamber president, as was The Press News Group marketing and advertising executive David MacMillan in his position as vice president. Sag Harbor Express advertising director, sports editor and co-publisher Gavin Menu was re-elected to his position as recording secretary. The Wharf Shop’s Dede O’Connell, Tagliasacchi, Thorpe, Brogna and Borgida were elected members of the board of directors joining existing members Maryanne Cicio of Cook Travel, Barbara Schmitz of Sag Harbor Liquors, Alan Fruitstone of Harbor Pets and director emeritus Dave Lee.
