Swinging for a Cause

Posted on 02 May 2013

On May 15th, players will gather for a round of golf at Noyac Country Club in support of WPPB (www.peconicpublicbroadcasting.org), Long Island’s only local NPR public radio station.

With the women’s U.S. Open set to take place in late June at Sebonac Golf Club in Southampton, WPPB has golf fever, with its own Ann Liguori – radio host of Sports Innerview on Saturdays at 9 a.m. on WPPB – joining a foursome on the course and hosting an evening live auction as well.

The event on May 15 will include brunch, a round of golf starting at noon, with WPPB radio personalities Bonnie Grice, Brian Cosgrove, Ed German, Ann Liguori, Michael Mackey and other WPPB staff on hand for cocktails and a dinner with the golfers in Noyac’s new club house after the round. Non-golfers, spouses, and partners are invited to the club house for cocktails, dinner, and an evening of fun with the WPPB family and friends.

The cost of the benefit for players is $425 or $1,600 per foursome. For those just interested in attending the dinner, with cocktails and auction, the cost is $125. For more information, or to register call Hal Fickett at 591-7003 or email hal@883WPPB.org.
