Carl G. Marino

Carl G. Marino, a longtime resident of Sag Harbor, died at Southampton Hospital on Saturday, October 6, after battling Parkinson’s disease. He was 72 years old.

Mr. Marino was born in the Bronx, N.Y. in 1940, the son of P. George and Mary Grace (Paliatto) Marino. He attended Mt. St. Michael High School and later worked for his father in the garment trucking business in New York until 1976. His family vacationed in Sag Harbor beginning in 1944 and became permanent residents in 1976.

In 1979, Mr Marino and a partner established Harbor Cove Realty in Sag Harbor which he successfully operated until 2009. He was well known in the community, was a member and past commodore of the Sag Harbor Yacht Club, enjoyed boating and was an avid New York Giants fan.

Mr. Marino is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara, his son Carl Jr., daughter Debi, son-in-law Rich, and grandson Aaron. He was predeceased by his sister, Georgann Sammis.

Funeral services were held at St. Andrew R.C. Church on Wednesday, October 10, with interment at St. Andrew Cemetery. In lieu fo flowers that family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Andrew Church, ARF, or the Pallottine Fathers.

    Before Carl became prisoner to his horrible, fatal disease I enjoyed talking with him. Carl had a great sense of humor & could always make me laugh. I’m sorry he’s gone, but thank God he’s now at peace.
