Kathryn L. Jacobs-Ericson, a resident of Richmondville, N.Y. for 20 years, died at Albany Medical Center on February 3, 2012. She was 81 and formerly lived in Southampton.
She was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. on January 28, 1931 to John G. and Kathryn S. (Dumproff) Van Orden. A graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, she was an accountant and the wife of Amos Jacobs, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Jacobs-Ericson is survived by her children, Amos Jr. of Southampton, Lisa and Laurie, of upstate New York, and Jason of California. Also surviving are nine grandchildren. She is predeceased by a brother, Jack Van Orden.
Locally, Mrs. Jacobs-Ericson was active in the stop Shoreham movement and was a Cub Scout Den mother for both her sons’ troops.
A service took place in upstate New York on February 6. Locally, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 21 at Oakland Cemetery in Sag Harbor followed by a gathering at 2 p.m. at the Southampton home of Amos Ericson.
