Marjorie Marie Brinkley, 81, died on September 9, 2012 at her home in Sag Harbor surrounded by loved ones.

Mrs. Brinkley was born to William Harrison and Mamie Cecil Bowling on September 23, 1930 in Monroe, Michigan. She later lived in Malibu, Rancho Mirage and Beverly Hills,  California and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii before moving to Sag Harbor.

A mother and homemaker, Mrs. Brinkley was married to her husband of 50 years, television writer and producer Donald Alan Brinkley, who predeceased her on July 14. Having earned the nickname “Miracle Marge” after battling many heart attacks and strokes over the past ten years, Mrs. Brinkley could not overcome the death of her husband the past July.

She is survived by her two children, nutritionist Gregory Donald Brinkley and model and actress Christie Lee Brinkley as well as brother James, sister Juanita Keefe and five grandchildren, Alexa Ray Joel, Ian Amadeo, Elliott Marie, Jack Paris and Sailor Lee.

A tree planting ceremony will take place in spring to honor Marjorie Marie and Donald Alan Brinkley.

The family asks that memorial donations be sent to the American Heart Association in care of a special fund:
