Kenneth Wurm

Kenneth Wurm of Wickatuck Lane in Sag Harbor died at Stony Brook University Hospital on Sunday, December 25, 2011. He was 59 years old and was a 20 year resident of Sag Harbor.

He was born in Mineola, N.Y. on February 20, 1952 to Robert F. and Josephine (Leogrande) Wurm. Mr. Wurm worked as a master carpenter. He was divorced, and in addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Koral Wurm and Logan Wurm. He is also survived by one grandchild.

Memorial services were held January 2, 2012 at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. Cremation services were private.


Daniel St. John

Daniel St. John passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Wartburg Adult Care Community in Mount Vernon, N.Y. He was 89.

Born in New York City on April 9, 1922, Mr. St. John served in the U.S. Army from 1941 through the end of World War II. He received many decorations, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

After the war, he joined the New York City Police Department where he rose to the rank of inspector. During his 38-year career he received numerous awards and commanded the department’s Emergency Services Unit.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Genevieve “Jean” and his son Thomas. He is survived by his brother John, his children Rose (Crowley), Christopher, Daniel and Mary Grace (Kunda), his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation took place at Westchester Funeral Home, Eastchester, N.Y. on Wednesday, January 4. A Requiem Mass will be held today, Thursday, January 5 at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe, at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Sag Harbor.
