Rae Parks

Rae H. Parks, a resident of Sag Harbor for over 50 years, died on August 11 at the age of 100. She was born on September 5, 1911 in Brooklyn to Harry Hairston and Annie Goodwin Hairston.

Mrs. Parks was the wife of Dr. Mark E. Parks, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her parents, brother Whitney Hairston and her son Mark G. Parks, who died in 2003.

Mrs. Parks is survived by her sister Jacqueline H. Hendy of Sag Harbor and New York City, her grandson Mark W. Parks and his wife Marlene and great grandson Mark Alessandro, niece Ardath Hill, daughter-in-law Maria Parks,  nephew Thomas Amos and his wife Julie, great niece Kimberly Keys and her husband Brian Keys, and their children Jaimee and Kevin, and great niece Marissa Hill.

A memorial will be held on September 2, 2012 at Christ Episcopal Church in Sag Harbor from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m..

The family asks that memorial donations be made to East Hampton Meals on Wheels.

    This is one great loss to the communities of Azurest,Sag Harbor Hills and Ninevah Beach.My family was there at the beginning with the Parks family and I only have fond memories of seeing one of Sag’s elegant ladies as I grew up in the 60′s.Condolences to her family from mine. Adrian Lamos
