Robert LeRoy Forsyth Sr.

Robert (Bob) LeRoy Forsyth, Sr., a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, and long time resident of Port Washington, L.I. and Sag Harbor, died peacefully on Sunday, November 20. Born in Jersey City, N.J., on January 1, 1922, he was a veteran of World War II having served in the army infantry and in support for the Flying Tigers, in China, Burma and India.

A senior manager with IBM for 30 years, he was a former President of PW Rotary and active in local youth athletic leagues. He was a member of St. Peters and St. Andrews churches.

Mr. Forsyth is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria, three children, Eileen, of Garden City, N.Y., Robert Jr. of Bronxville, N.Y. and Karen of Jupiter, Florida, as well as six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother Sadie and his brother Francis.

Services will be held at Thomas Dalton Funeral Home, 125 Hillside Ave. New Hyde Park on Saturday, December 3, from 2 to 8 p.m. with a memorial service at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to veterans charities.
