$40 Million in Additional State Funding Offered for Local Road Projects

New York State will provide $40 million in funding to local governments for highway and bridge repairs following this harsh winter, according to Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr.

The funding was passed as a part of the 2014-15 budget and is a special, one-time allocation being made in addition to $438 million in existing state support for local transportation infrastructure.

All counties, cities, towns and villages will receive capital assistance through the program.

On the East End, the Village of Sag Harbor will receive $10,543 in funding; the Village of North Haven will receive $2,887; the Town of East Hampton will receive $62,117; the Town of Southampton will get $97,202; the Village of Sagaponack will receive $4,397; the Village of Southampton will get $29,266; the Village of East Hampton will receive $18,267l and the Town of Shelter Island will get $14,383.
