At 12:33 a.m. on Thursday, October 31 the East Hampton Fire Department responded to 168 Two Holes of Water Road for a reported structure fire.
Arriving units found a single-family home with two rooms heavily involved with fire, and were able to knock down the fire within 15 minutes. Due to the lack of a sufficient water suppy nearby, the Sag Harbor and Bridgehampton fire departments were also called to provide tankers to the scene, as well as a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) from Sag Harbor and an engine and tanker from Springs to stand by at East Hampton’s firehouse. All the occupants of the home were able to exit the residence safely and there were no other injuries. All units were back in service by 2:45 a.m. The East Hampton Town Fire Marshal’s office was called to the scene, and is investigating.
