Homecoming Weekend Rescheduled

Posted on 26 September 2008

This Weekend’s Pierson Middle/High School’s scheduled homecoming festivities have been rescheduled due to the wet weather and high winds caused by tropical storm Kyle.

The varsity boys soccer game against the Ross School that is scheduled for Friday, September 26, is rescheduled for next Friday, October, 3 at 4:00 p.m. and will be played behind the school. Varsity girls soccer in Easthampton will be played at 4:30 p.m today and the varsity girls volleyball is at home today at 4:30 p.m. against Center Moriches and will be played as well.

The girls scheduled field hockey home game against Hampton Bays is rescheduled for Monday September 29. The alumni field hockey game scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 28, is canceled and there is no word on rescheduling that game for now.

The district has rescheduled the bonfire and pep rally for next Saturday, October 4 from 6pm to 9pm at Long Beach. The schools will announce the winners of King and Queen and the Queen’s court for grades 9-12. Each grade will also perform a class cheer that they created.

The homecoming ceremonies will continue into Sunday, October 5, where a parade will begin at 9am behind Apple Bank where students will walk behind town to Nassau Street and up through Main Street to Mashashimuet Park. Each grade 9-12 created a superhero-themed float for the day. Skits will follow in Mashashimuet Park. Grades 6-8 will walk in the parade with self-designed banners.

Tropical Storm Kyle is expected to pass by Sunday.
