Liquors Clinches First

Sag Harbor Liquors came off the field last night with a 16-6 win over Decker’s Scrubs to close out their regular season campaign at 15-3, tops in the league. The Scrubs’ loss leaves them at 10-8, and as the third place finisher, ready to face second-place, 13-3, T&S Mott in the first round of the playoffs.

Liquors meanwhile is set to play Beyel Plumbing and Heating, the fourth-place finisher, who improved 9-7 last night when Immaculate Swimming Pools was forced to forfeit when only seven players showed.

The pairings set, the four teams are looking to start the playoffs as soon as possible, the league forgoing three make-up games initially set for next week.

Unfortunately, Liquors may not have enough players to field a team on Monday, so Tuesday and Thursday are being discussed as start dates for the first round. The Suffolk County umpire assigner is due game information on Friday.
