The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons will be on hand again this year with voter registration forms and absentee ballot applications in both English and Spanish, on Tuesday, September 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the second annual National Voter Registration Day. League members will be located at tables at 11 sites throughout the South Fork.
National Voter Registration Day was established throughout the United States last fall by hundreds of national, state and local organizations to bring attention to the importance of registering to vote on time. The New York State deadline is October 11 for the general election on November 5.
“Anyone who was not registered previously, or who has moved, or who has changed his or her name needs to fill out a voter registration form,” said the Hamptons League’s voter services chair Anne Marshall. “We hope you will stop by one of our tables, where we will also be glad to answer any of your questions.”
Locally, league tables will be located at Schiavoni’s Market on Main Street in Sag Harbor, at the Bridgehampton Kmart in the Bridgehampton Commons, at Starbucks on Main Street in Bridgehampton, at Waldbaum’s on Newtown Lane in East Hampton, at Waldbaum’s on Jagger Lane in Southampton and at the Rogers Memorial Library on Coppers Farm Road in Southampton.
