Run Ends for Lady Whalers

Posted on 08 June 2013

By Gavin Menu

After exploding for 24 runs in a New York State regional final on Wednesday, the Pierson-Bridgehampton softball team had their bats silenced on Saturday by Frewsburg High School and their ace pitcher, Sam Mott, who tossed a no-hitter through six innings.

The 7-0 loss in the state Class C semifinal marked the end of a season in which the Lady Whalers posted a 14-8 record and the second-consecutive season in which they advanced to the state final four.

The team will lose only one senior to graduation in Julia Schiavoni.
