The East Hampton boys swim team, which features swimmers from Pierson and Bridgehampton as well, closed out the regular season with a thrilling 89-81 win over Sayville-Bayport last Wednesday, January 29. The meet came down to the final event—the 400-yard freestyle relay—where Thomas Brierley swam a come-from-behind anchor leg to post a time of 3:32.00, compare to 3:33.97 for Sayville.

The Bonackers finished with a 5-2 record in League II, good for third place behind undefeated Hauppauge and West Islip. The team will compete in the League II Championship meet at Hauppauge tomorrow, February 7, at 4:30 p.m. Swimmers who have qualified for the county meet will swim at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood on February 15.
