Kyle McGowin, a Sag Harbor native and graduate of Pierson High School, picked up his first win of the season for the Inland Empire 66ers, the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, who took McGowin in the fifth round of last year’s Major League Baseball draft.

McGowin, a 6-foot-3 right hander out of Savannah State University, pitched seven innings and allowed just three hits and a walk, lowering his ERA in three appearances to an impressive 1.06.

The 66ers are based in San Bernardino, California as the “High A” affiliate of the Angels, whose minor league system also includes a AA team based in Arkansas and a AAA team based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
