Youth Basketball

The SYS Youth Hoops Basketball League season is coming to a close, and Southampton Youth Services (SYS) will be hosting a “March Madness” to cap the season. The first games begin this week, with scheduling for further rounds to be determined. The league is comprised of young athletes, grades 3 through 8, all across the East End of Long Island, with separate divisions for different age groups.

After the playoffs SYS Hoops host a league all star game on Saturday, March 31. The SYS building is at 1370A Majors Path in Southampton. For game times and information call SYS at 287-1511.

Cosmos Tennis

The defending league champion Ross Cosmos boys tennis team is gearing up for the beginning of their season this week. Since getting their program up and running the Cosmos have been the dominant force in League VII, holding onto the league title for two years strait.

The team’s first matchup will be held tomorrow, Friday, March 23 at 4:30 p.m. at home against the combined East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson Bonackers. The team’s first match against their traditional rivals, the Westhampton Hurricanes, will take place at home on Friday, March 30 at 4:30 p.m.

Cosmos Track and Field

The Ross/Pierson track and field athletes are preparing for their first competition of the season this week, with a combine boys and girls meet at McGann-Mercy. The meet is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 26 at 4:30 p.m.
