Boys Varsity Soccer (4-2-2)

The boys’ varsity soccer team has been knocked out of third place after a close, 0-1 loss to Southold (6-2-1) on Monday, October 17. The loss came off a disappointing 2-2 tie with a floundering team from Ross (1-5-2) last Thursday. Christian Bautista and Hunter Leyser each scored in the game against Ross. While Ian Barrett was credited with nine saves in the loss to Southold. The boys’ next game comes against Greenport/Shelter Island (5-2-2) at home on Friday, October 21.

7th and 8th Grade Girls Tennis (3-2)

In a clean sweep, the Whalers tennis team took out a visiting Springs team on Tuesday, October 18. The win is the team’s third in a row, and gives the team their first winning record of the season. The girls in the singles matches truly shined. Lily Kot, Isabelle Peters, Brooke Britt and Sarah Jannetti all won in two sets without surrendering a single game. Doubles partners Madeline Briggs and Hannah Jungck did the same. The team faces Southampton, at home, on Monday, October 24.

Boys Varsity Golf (6-4)

The boys’ varsity golf team finished their season in third place in League VIII. The Whalers went into this week with a (6-2) record, going into the home stretch of their season with big home games against second place Southampton (7-2) and first place East Hampton. The Whalers first lost to Southampton, 7-2, on October 13, then dropped a game to East Hampton, 8-1, on October 18. All four of the team’s regular season losses come from these two teams.
