Obituaries September 23, 2010

Patricia A. Restivo (nee Kenney)

Pat Restivo, of Sag Harbor and formerly of Bayridge, Brooklyn, passed away September 10, 2010, at the Westhampton Care Facility. She was 72.

Mrs. Restivo was born April 26, 1938 in Brooklyn, the only child of Harold and Agnes Kenney (nee Weaver). She attended Visitation, Fontbonne Academy, and St. Claire’s Nursing School. She worked for years in the healthcare industry: as a registered nurse at hospitals in the Bronx and Bay Shore; as a marketing manager at Quality Care and as a social services coordinator at Southampton Hospital. Her true love was family, friends and the summers spent working at Camp St Vincent in North Haven and Camp St. Regis in East Hampton, as the camp nurse.

A resident of Sag Harbor since 1967, Mrs. Restivo had a passion for the village and was a founding member of the Sag Harbor Youth Center. After retiring, she volunteered at the Sag Harbor Windmill and conducted blood pressure screenings at the Medicine Shoppe in Southampton.

Mrs. Restivo is survived by her loving children:  Lorraine Bromley (Michael, deceased August 23, 2010) of Hewlett, NY; Robert Restivo (Amy) of Mount Laurel, NJ; and William Restivo of New York City; and five granddaughters. She is also survived by Vincent Restivo, Sag Harbor. Married for 21 years before divorcing in 1978, they remained close friends.

At her service, Allen Youngs read a proclamation from the Town of Southampton in recognition of her contribution to the community. Afterwards, she was honored with a police escort through Sag Harbor. She would have enjoyed that.
